High Sierra backpacking, August 2006

Paul, Sam, Kevin, Andy, and I did a fantastic High Sierra trip in 2000, and we were ready to do it again summer of 2006. Paul did all the route planning, and set us up for a great 8-day tour starting at Lake Sabrina. We went over Wallace Col and wound our way past named and unnamed lakes, criss-crossing the John Muir Trail at times, and eventually came out through Darwin Canyon and over Lamarck Col. Most of the time we were above tree line (11,000+ feet), so the first few days were hard for your humble Seattle-based (0 elevation) narrator until I got acclimated, but the High Sierra granite and water and views are simply sublime.
